Round Up: A Listy McList of the B2/M2 project, books I've tried, books I love, books that are leaving.
Apples for Jam ~ Tessa Kiros. Pretty, pretty book. Bought ages ago but rarely used, eh, think I may have done a couple of things from it but am actually struggling to remember.
B2/M2'ed
White milk bread, page 263. Made a really delicious and soft, plain white loaf. Good and tasty and popular with the mini taste tester. Would make it again!
Flour Bakery Cookbook ~ Joanne Chang. Lovely book, so nicely put together! it feels sturdy and that's just as well because I may use it to death... thus far I've made the basic brioche dough, the brioche au chocolate, lemon loaf cake, oatmeal raisin cookies, chocolate chip cookies and country bread (uh, B2/M2? lol) and they were all great! The measurements are metric (with cups too for anyone who insists on volume) and really precise, plays to my ocd thing. So yeah, it stays!
How to be a Domestic Goddess ~ Nigella Lawson. This one also gets a free pass, I have actually used this to death, my copy is falling apart. Made loads out of it, too many to round up here, the breads, preserves and cakes I've tried were all delicious and most of my "oh my god I need cake now" recipes are from this book.
Tender Volume 1 (vegetables) ~ Nigel Slater. Recently made the moist chocolate and beetroot cake, it certainly was moist and seriously chocolatey. I loved it, and if you enjoy cake that's trying to act like a giant chocolate truffle you might too! doesn't taste of beetroot, just dark, gorgeous, silky chocolate.
Food from Plenty ~ Diana Henry. Made the Bettleman pudding (kind of bread and butter pudding with caramelised apple chunks) it's very nice, but not amazing, not the bread pudding to send the rest slinking back to the larder in shame. But yeah, it's good, not a pudding fail I guess.
A taste of the country ~ Jimmy Doherty. I make the gingerbread pigs from this every so often, it's just a really nice, plain recipe that makes good cutout biscuits, not too sweet or fiery either. Actually did buy a pig shaped cutter, it's fun to dab them with chocolate after baking to make rare breed piggies... yeah, I dont get out much.

The River Cottage bread handbook ~ Daniel Stevens. Homemade bagels! the recipes in here have been good so far (made a few) but the bagels, the bagels, just yum. Chewy and slightly sweet with a nice crust.
